WOMEN'S HEALTH SERVICES
Confidential sexual health services for women age 12 and older are available at City Clinic both on a drop-in and appointment basis. The first time you come for a family planning visit, you need to make an appointment. Call 415-487-5552 for information or if you need to make an appointment. Drop-in hours:
Appointment hours:
Clinicians specially trained in women's health issues are available to provide comprehensive STD exams, counseling regarding contraception and birth control, Pap smears, and pregnancy counseling, testing and referral services. The HPV vaccine is available free to women age 18 and younger. Some birth control (condoms, Depo Provera injections are available) on-site. If you choose oral contraceptives (the Pill), the contraceptive patch, or the vaginal ring, you will leave your appointment with a prescription that you can get filled at a local pharmacy. Emergency contraception, also known as the "morning after pill," can be provided by Clinic staff within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse. If you are in this situation, come to the Clinic as soon as possible to talk to a clinician and learn about your choices. Cervical colposcopy performed by specially trained clinicians is available by appointment to women with abnormal Pap smears or women who require further medical evaluation or follow-up. |
